The good Mammas in Italian migrant families
The presentetation will deal with the construction of the image of the Italian mamma through historiography, litterature, movies and TV serials. It will analyze how it changed from the era of the great migration up till nowdays new mobilities.
It will span from the United States, to Canada and back to Italy.
The geographical core of the presentation will be the US were the modern stereotype of the Italian mother was created and diffused through the media after WW2.
